St Patrick’s Day – Lá Fhéile Pádraig 2025

Ambassador Ryan and Honorary Consul Guilfoyle hosted the annual Saint Patrick’s Day reception at the Honorary Consul’s Residence in Lagos which was attended by Team Ireland colleagues and many great Friends of Ireland.

Around 100 guests, drawn from across the Lagos business scene and Irish Community enjoyed a memorable event with Irish traditional music and dance from Nathan, Ronan and Colm as well as fabulous High Life music. A highlight was the recognition of Ms. Aduke Gomez who was presented with a Presidential Distinguished Service Award by the President of Ireland in January 2025.

To get the day off to the best possible start, Mrs Alice Dina was joined by Ambassador Ryan for the second annual Saint Patrick’s Day Business Breakfast, kindly hosted by Paul Kavanagh at The Wheatbaker.

The CEO of Open Access, Tunde Coker spoke of his experience in working with the Irish data centre sector and the potential for further partnerships between Ireland and Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Ambassador acknowledged the momentum in business links and recognised the presence of representatives from the tech, finance, education, agrifood and services sectors.

And guests enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast as well as Irish traditional music and dance and even our Saint Patrick’s Day Keke!
