About Us

Deepening & Extending Irish-Nigerian links

Friends of Ireland in Nigeria is a community-led initiative bringing together members and friends of the Irish Diaspora in Nigeria to support the deepening and enhancement of all aspects of the relationship between the Irish and Nigerian people.

We partner with groups and individuals in Nigeria and in Ireland to promote closer business links, showcase our shared cultures and bring people together to celebrate the flourishing connections our nations enjoy.

For example, we have partnered with the Embassy of Ireland and Jameson to co-host events for young professionals in the iconic Jameson Yard facility in Lagos as well as to co-host the annual St Patrick’s Day Business Breakfast which has quickly become part of the annual calendar. Our partnership with the Embassy has also delivered Cultúr Club events for young children, gaelic sports sessions and regular SIAMSA cultural gatherings in Lagos and Abuja.

Our audiences are a magic mix of diaspora members and Nigerian friends of Ireland including alumni of universities on the Island of Ireland as well as people who have attended schools in Nigeria with Irish heritage links. As well as enhancing people-to-people connections and showcasing our shared love for music, storytelling, arts and literature, our work helps to build understanding of the opportunities in key business sectors including technology, finance, agri-food, education and health. Get in touch if you would like to partner with us or to let us know about any interesting ongoing or planned projects.
