Young Professionals Series at the Jameson Yard

We welcomed Susan Hayes Culleton to speak at an intimate event for young professionals in the Jameson Yard. While a proud Corkonian, Susan is based in Dublin where she is known as the ‘Positive Economist’, hosts a weekly programme on Newstalk, runs Savvy Teens and travels to lecture at the University of Ulster.

Susan’s visit to Lagos was part of the Embassy’s Economic Series and she undertook a hectic programme in Abuja and Lagos. Go raibh mile maith agat Susan for a wonderful, memorable evening with our young professionals and a special thanks to Pernod Ricard for their warm hospitality.

Our rolling series of intimate events for young professionals in the Jameson Yard continued with visiting speaker Hesus Inoma, a Dublin-based start-up and tech ecosystem expert.

FoIN Chair Mrs Alice Dina welcomed Ambassador Ryan, Hesus Inoma and the packed venue with standing room only. She had particular thanks to our friends in Pernod Ricard for their support for the FoIN.

Sustainable Stories Africa have posted an excellent article setting out the key points made by Hesus during his visit to Lagos as a guest of the Embassy. Some highlights are below as is a link to the article.

PATH FORWARD – Build Slowly, Validate Deeply, Scale Wisely

Nigeria can borrow Ireland's most powerful engine: structured experimentation. Founders should validate markets through discovery sprints, test-worthy hypotheses, and paid pilots, before code, capital or scale.

Government, investors and hubs must build vertical innovation ladders: discovery funds, matched capital, and regulatory trust frameworks. This is how Nigeria and Africa will build companies that endure, not by speed, but by designing markets that want what they create.
