Cultural Festival with ATLAS Initiative

During his most recent visit to Lagos, Ambassador Ryan visited Ijora (beside the port at Apapa), a suburb with 12,000+ residents, where he met up with the team from the ATLAS Initiative, a partner of the Embassy on a project in late 2025 which provided training c 200 young women in Lagos and Ogun states. 



As there was a cultural festival taking place, it was a great day to visit such a dynamic and young community & the Ambassador met with some of the young women who had partaken in the programme before visiting a local health centre. He was also delighted to sit down with some of the 'champions' of the project who have undergone specialist training from ATLAS & who play such a valuable role in helping to reach those furthest behind. 

The visit included a courtesy meeting with the Oba of Olojora at his Palace as well as a meeting with some community elders.
